Research methods for interdisciplinary collaborative research in alcohol
This workshop focused on building understanding and skills in research methods for interdisciplinary collaborative research in alcohol. Participants were introduced to research methods via a case study of an interdisciplinary research project, followed by the ‘do’s and don’t’s of strategies for enhancing the success of interdisciplinary collaborations. Participants worked in groups to formulate an initial idea that could lead to an interdisciplinary research collaboration. This workshop took place during the 50th Kettil Bruun Society Conference in Glasgow, Scotland in June 2025. This was the second of three workshops under a project funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh aiming to strengthen collaborations in alcohol research in the Global South through the ICARA network.
