ICARA Board Elections for 2025-27
Interested in supporting capacity building and knowledge translation for substance use research globally? This is one of the aims of ICARA and there is an exciting opportunity to join its Board. As part of our upcoming AGM on 21st October, we will elect a new ICARA board for the period 2025-2027. The positions available for election are:

ICARA 2025 Annual General Meeting & General Assembly
The International Confederation of Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Research Associations (ICARA) invites you to join our on Tuesday 21st October, 14.00-15.00 via Zoom.
We focus on (re)prioritising prevention in policy and practice regarding alcohol, tobacco and other substance use.
Two experts will lead the discussion on core governance challenges and opportunities for achieving coordinated action in the development and implementation of comprehensive prevention programmes, from a Global North and South perspective. This includes, but is not limited to, issues in ensuring collaborative working with government departments within and beyond health, addressing tensions across the interactions of health, economic and sustainability agendas.

Research methods for interdisciplinary collaborative research in alcohol
This workshop aims to build understanding and skills in research methods for interdisciplinary collaborative research in alcohol. It is part of a larger project funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh which aims to strengthen collaborations in alcohol research with the Global South.
